It’s Tulip Time in Holland, Michigan! On Monday morning, I gathered up my two youngest children and some grandparents to check it out. It was my first time attending this annual week-long festival, and it was lovely!
In order to avoid the crowds, we chose to go there on a weekday morning. We did not get to participate in the parades or the carnival. We did not see the costumed locals in wooden shoes dancing in the streets. Instead we simply wandered the streets and parks, enjoyed the views, admired the many tulips, and ate lunch at one of the many local restaurants. Oh, and the kids split an elephant ear from one of the concession booths!
Tulip Time lasts through this weekend. If you are interested in checking it out, you can get all the information you need like event listings, performance details, parking recommendations, and maps at the festival’s website here: http://www.tuliptime.com/
In the meanwhile, enjoy these pictures of tulips from our visit.

So pretty! I love all the wonderful colours you can get with tulips 🙂 #citytripping
The Michigan tulips are beautiful this year! I went to see the Tulips in Albany, NY. Don’t tulips just scream spring?!

My friends and I were just talking about this at dinner! We want to go next year! #citytripping
What gorgeous shots – one of my favourite flowers, I didn’t know there was anything like this in Michigan. A proper taste of Holland by the sound of it. The flowers would definitely beat parade crowds for me as well. Thanks for linking up with #citytripping
I love tulips. It’s one of my favorite parts of spring! You certainly found some beautiful ones!
