What a fun surprise for our family! We recently visited the Outdoor Discovery Center in Holland, Michigan. It was our first visit in over a year. Imagine our surprise to discover a new 7-acre nature-inspired playground behind the Visitor Center!
My kids had such a good time there. I bet your children would love it, too.

The Eldean Family Nature Play Park is the newest addition to the Outdoor Discovery Center. This playground is designed to inspire creative play using natural resources but all you really need to know is… It’s seven acres of nature-inspired fun, and YOUR KIDS WILL LOVE IT!
8 Reasons Your Kids Will Love This Nature Play Park
Here’s eight things your kids will love about the Outdoor Discovery Center’s Nature Play Park.
1 Tree Swing
Swing from the trees! This tree swing is so much fun.
2 Eagle Nest
Your little fledglings will never want to leave this play eagle nest.
3 Log Fort
Climb, balance, explore… Your kids will love the log fort!
4 Zip Line
Feel the rush while zipping through the air! The zip line is a favorite attraction amongst kids visiting Eldean Family Nature Play Park.
5 Bear Den
Will your cubs take a long winter’s nap in this bear den? I doubt it. They will probably be having too much fun to stop for a rest.
6 Hammock Village
Bring your own hammock so you can “hang out” in the hammock village.
7 Spider Web
You don’t need eight legs to enjoy climbing on this gigantic spider web!
8 More Fun in the Works
There were areas that were still under construction during our visit, and you know what that means! That means there is more fun stuff in the works. My kids and I can’t wait to see what will be added to this unique playscape in the near future!
Don’t Miss the Nearby Hidden Play Areas
The Outdoor Discovery Center is also home to other nature-inspired play areas. While a little more hidden, there are a couple smaller nature-inspired play areas located close to the Nature Play Park. These nearby play areas are located next to the Discovery Pavillion and can be easily found by just wandering a short ways along the trails.
Smaller than Eldean Family Nature Play Park, these play spaces are still big fun! Plus, they are not as busy as the large play park and are less likely to be crowded.
These hidden nature play areas feature a smaller zipline, a tunnel through a hillside pollinator garden, logs to balance on, a sandbox and more.
See You at the Outdoor Discovery Center Nature Play Park!
Don’t these nature-inspired play areas sound like fun? Maybe we will see you there sometime, eh?

Looks like a win! Can adults use the zip line too!? Asking for a friend. 😬
Ha! I saw a minimum age requirement on the zipline sign. But no maximum age. So…. I think you can!
My daughter would love this place! The zip line looks really fun; I can see why it’s popular. I like the bear den, too. This is perfect for kids and kids at heart.
I thought the bear den was especially cute. That would’ve been my favorite when I was a kid.
Looks like a fun place to bring the grandkids sometime when they come for a visit. (A good excuse for us old folks to come and play, too!)
